Participants of the forum of Supreme Court chairpersons of BRICS countries have signed a joint statement at the conclusion of their work.

The signed joint statement emphasizes the similarity of our positions on key of law enforcement. It is gratifying that the inclusion of new BRICS member countries allowed us to meet in an expanded format, said Irina Podnosova, Chairperson the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, in her closing speech. She noted that despite national peculiarities in judicial proceedings, participants share a common goal: striving for, justice, and effective judicial protection of the rights of citizens and organizations. During the sessions, issues related to ensuring consistency in judicial practice, judicial protection of social rights for citizens and investors, as well as fundamental human freedoms in criminal proceedings were discussed. The processes of introducing into legal proceedings and harmonizing legislation among BRICS states were also considered. Participants in forum emphasized in their agreement that judicial dialogue within BRICS contributes to achieving integration goals and developing cooperation within BR, as well as strengthening mutual trust and friendliness between states and peoples. Participants will continue to exchange experiences and discuss potential challenges in this field.
